The
altarpiece of La Milagrosa is from the 17th century in a classicist baroque
style. Its structure consists of a single body with classical columns - alternating
Corinthian and Ionic capitals. The triangular-shaped attic is topped with
sibyls and angels.
The
sculptures are reminiscent of the style of Manuel Adeva Pacheco, a sculptor
closely related to Segovia, where his father was from. His training was developed
mainly with the sculptor Humbert Dumandré.
This
altarpiece may come from the disappeared convent of La Merced.
