The altarpiece is a set of baroque
aesthetics, flat, with simple lines. Composed of the altar table, bench or
narrow predella, on which a single body rests with a semicircular arch in the
center that serves as a frame for the scene of The Last Supper.
Crossing two inverted pilasters, which
hold the top of the attic. In this attic, we find a sculpture on a base that
represents the Immaculate Virgin. Crowning the attic, a cherub with vegetal
decorations, finishing the sides with two noble coats of arms. On both sides of
the altarpiece there are two bases on which are two male sculptures with black
habit.
The altarpiece is made of pine wood. The
altar table is gilded and polychrome, and gilded vegetal and geometric volumes.
A deeply rooted devotion in the Parish of
San Miguel is the Procession of the Blessed Sacrament inside the nave of the
Church every third Sunday of each month, as well as the Octava de La Minerva
before the Feast of Corpus Christi.
